This subpoena was issued to all sailors who crossed the equator for the first time.   Each "Polliwag" had to go through the traditional initiation ritual that earned then the right to be called a "Shellback". The photos below hint at what was in-store for the "Polliwag". Copy of subpoena donated by Marty Henry.
