Artifact: Piece of Kamikaze

An authentic piece of the Japanese airplane that hit the 502 was brought home from the war by Edward B. Henry Jr. S1/c who passed away in 1987 (see his photo on this page).  This piece of metal is a "bitter-sweet" reminder to the crew who lost close friends and shipmates.   For the families it is an artifact from an event in history that took the life of their loved one.  A special "Thank You" to the Henry family of Hampton, N.J. for their generosity in sharing this artifact.
