HARRISON FACTS:

Laid down by Consolidated Steel, Orange TX. June 25, 1941. Launched May 4, 1942 and commissioned January 25, 1943.  Join squadron Aug. 1943.  Commanding Officers: Cmdr. C.M. Dalton 1/25/43 to 4/27/44 when W.V.Combs took command.  Plank Owners: 4 officers and 74 enlisted men.   Individual Awards: 1 Silver Star, 3 Bronze Stars. Casualties - 0.  Mines Sunk or Detonated - 15.  Days Radar Picket - 17.  Other Operations Area: Atlantic Convoy, May 1943.  Sea Rescues: 10 Pilots, 2 Aircrew, 1 Other.  Longest Period at Sea - 57 days Honshu-Hokkaido Strikes 1945.  Fueling at Sea - 157 South Pacific Area.  Provisions/Ammunitions at Sea - 25.  Shore Bombardments - 7.   Enemy Aircraft Shot Down - 5.  Surface Craft Sunk - 1.  Enemy Anti-Submarine Actions - Nov. 8 and 20 1943.  Times Under Shore Battery Attack - 1.   Decommissioned April 1, 1946. Stricken May 1, 1968,  Sold to Mexico Aug.19, 1970 and renamed Cuauhtemoc. Demise came in 1982 when she was wrecked in a storm and dismantled.
